The promotional bonafides of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune are preternaturally poised to rile up attention: Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, two of Hollywood’s hottest and most fashionable actors in their prime, co-starring in an auteur-directed flick based on canonical science-fiction IP and wearing a parade of designer ensembles to an audience of flashbulbs and adoring fans. Throw well-heeled newcomers Florence Pugh and Austin Butler into the anticipated sequel Dune: Part Two that’s due out on March 1, and you’re in for a press-tour sandstorm.

Hot on the heels of his maniacal Wonka promotional run in November, Chalamet has been jet-setting for months: flying off to London, Paris, Tokyo, Mexico City, and Seoul to attend the premieres of his back-to-back blockbusters, all while donning truly bonkers ensembles with the assistance of his recent-ish stylist Ryan Hastings. While the Wonka promo called for chocolatey Tom Ford suiting and a custom Prada boiler suit reminiscent of grape Laffy Taffy, the Dune cinematic universe skews closer to neo-suits with futuristic touches and sci-fi detailing.

But if Timmy and Zendaya’s first Dune press tour in 2021 was a constant source of fashion catnip, their Dune 2 run has introduced a bit of friendly competition: Zendaya, who remains the primary muse of the semi-retired super-stylist Law Roach, is Hollywood’s shining fashion torchbearer—thanks in no small part to the rare archival designer pieces she and Roach manage to get onto red carpets. This was all the more apparent when Z hit the Dune premiere in London last week in a chrome fembot suit from Thierry Mugler’s 1995 couture collection—a piece that’s rarely been seen off the runway—while Timmy wore something significantly more casual. (That said, wouldn’t anything next to rare archival Mugler seem way too casual?)

Below, we rounded up all of Timothée Chalamet’s looks from the Dune: Part Two press tour thus far.
