The official Corteiz Instagram account is nowhere to be found at the moment, with brand founder Clint Ogbenna, a.k.a. Clint 419, suggesting the move was done without his authorization.
In a post shared to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday (April 16), Clint said he woke up this morning after enduring “food poisoning” the night before to find that “eight years of work and 1.6 million followers” had “evaporated,” confidently adding that “the get-back will be glorious.” He then directed his followers to WhatsApp in the meantime.
“They don’t want us inspiring the youth for free,” he added when elaborating further in a Stories update shared to his personal Instagram account. “They want me charging £99 a month for a pyramid scheme on Telegram.”
In a follow-up post, he attributed the apparent Corteiz Instagram deactivation to unspecified “enemies,” before again asserting a message of positivity as he forges ahead.
“It’s evident that my enemies have finally mustered up the courage to congregate and conspire to try [and] take us down,” he wrote. “They don’t know my mum sends me nuclear-powered prayers every morning on WhatsApp. We can’t lose.”
At the time of this writing, attempting to visit the original Corteiz IG page leads to the display of a message stating “this page isn’t available” and “may have been removed.”
It wasn’t immediately clear what may have led to this move. Complex has reached out to reps for Meta, which owns and operates Instagram, for comment. This story may be updated.
