A$AP Rocky is the kind of dude who goes for a jog across Beverly Hills wearing nothing but Bottega Veneta. So when the Italian luxury house shows its latest collection at Milan Fashion Week, three things are a given. One: the American rapper will be there. Two: he’ll be sitting in the front row. And three: Lord Flacko will be dressed from head to toe in the flyest Bottega threads. And that’s pretty much exactly what happened.
Among other A-listers like Julianne Moore and Salma Hayek, A$AP stood out in a dark gray dress shirt and a leather tie. He’s always been known to imbue traditional tailoring with an edgier aesthetic, so this combo isn’t too much of a shocker. Remember: This is the same guy who wore a grandad-core blazer and paired it with a Barbie-core bag.
But the thing that got the menswear Discords buzzing is the rest of his fit. Up top, he wore a jacket that can only be described as a sawed-off trench coat, which he paired with matching trousers anchored by shiny calfskin loafers. Of course, with Rocky being who he is, everything was leather—and everything was unreleased. Frankly, it gave off some very strong Rihanna vibes, in the best way (as it happens, she wore an outfit with a similar vibe to last month’s Dior show in Paris).
Naturally, this isn’t the first time that Rocky and RiRi nailed couple’s dressing. Since 2013, the power duo have been serving up some of the best in-sync fits since Sonny and Cher, and these all-leather get-ups are just another one for the history books. A$AP Rocky’s sublime Bottega ensemble hasn’t even hit the racks yet, and his aviator shades—the only piece actually available when we started writing this—are already sold out. Thankfully, though, the Matthieu Blazy-fronted brand makes plenty more of ’em.
