Choose neutral colors and quality fabrics.
While track pants come in just about every color possible, we recommend sticking with neutrals if you want to make it fashion-forward. Think black, navy, camel, gray, or ecru.
Texture is also something you might want to pay attention to if you’re going for a chicer sweatpants look. We find the best sets come in a plush cotton, a high-quality knit, or (if your budget allows) cashmere. And stick to a monochrome palette: If there’s a matching sweatshirt, go for it. It’ll be so much easier to match.

Find the right balance.
Styling a pair of sweats is often a game of balance and proportions. If you’re wearing a wide-leg or baggy sweatsuit, for example, that extra volume will look more put together with a more structured shirt like a crop top, button-down, or fitted crewneck T-shirt.
