Zendaya takes this whole press tour fashion thing very seriously. Just one scroll on TikTok over the past few months, and you would’ve been blessed with everything from her Juun.j jumpsuits to her metal Mugler suits. And while most of us will never wear stuff like this (one-off android battle armor’s quite hard to come by), we can still learn a thing or two from her big fits—especially when it comes to her penchant for excellent tailoring.

While she was on her way to Jimmy Kimmel Live! yesterday, the Challengers star rocked up in a blazer. But this wasn’t just any blazer. As Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach said in his interview with Vogue earlier this year: “Beautiful clothes should live the longest lives possible, and as many lives as possible. They shouldn’t just lay dormant somewhere.” So of course, this piece was pulled straight out of Ralph Lauren’s archives from Spring 1992.

Decked out in a gray marl-like fabric, it was decorated with a fine check pattern that took over the entire jacket. Six black buttons featured across the front, and the lapels were super wide and super pointy. Because it was the early ’90s, after all.

But what struck us the most about Zendaya’s fit was the fact she does menswear better than most men. While some dudes love a double-breasted suit because it looks traditional and seems more “put together,” if you’re a particularly big guy and you have Herculean shoulders (like Henry Cavill), this style can be tricky. Zendaya has a slim and tall build, so it looks great on her.

Something else that you can learn from the Emmy Award-winner is the mismatched tie and pocket square combo. You might think that these should match, but the rule of thumb is that these should never be cut from the same material or have the same pattern. While it might seem like the easy way to coordinate everything, you should instead be picking ones that just complement each other. And that’s exactly what she did for her latest talk show appearance.

There’s bad news and there’s good news. Bad news: You’ll never be able to buy any of Zendaya’s pieces (they’re vintage, baby!). Good news: She can teach you a few things about wearing your own clothes, and that’s good enough.
