The moment Wednesday fans have been waiting for is here: The hit Netflix series starring Jenna Ortega as the gloomiest member of the Addams Family has been renewed for a second season.

In a Facebook video announcing a slate of returning shows, Netflix dropped the news on January 6 writing, “Wednesday has been officially renewed for Season 2! And that’s not the only one….” They also shared a Wednesday-centric YouTube video on the same day.

“Over the past few weeks, I have been hunted, haunted, and mimicked millions of times across the internet,” Wednesday says in the video, referencing her iconic dance, which was choreographed by Ortega and has inspired countless TikTok videos and a particularly impressive ice-skating routine. “It’s been pure torture….Thank you.”

“We are thrilled that the entire Addams family will be enrolling in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces,” says Al Gough and Miles Millar, who are the series creators, writers, and showrunners.

Here’s everything we know about Wednesday season 2.

When will Wednesday return? No announcement yet, but the first season dropped in November 2022, so it’s likely we are looking at a fall 2023 premiere. On May 7, Netflix announced that production had started in Ireland with several new cast members joining the season (more on that soon).

How many episodes? Season one stuck to Netflix’s typical eight-episode model, but would it be too much to ask to go to, like, 13? Alas, no news yet.

Who is in the cast? (Warning: Spoilers for season one ahead.) Considering the entire show is about Wednesday Addams and Ortega has already lent her voice to the season two announcement, we already knew she will return for season two. Ortega is also set to be a producer on season two. Wednesday’s Nevermore classmates Enid (Emma Myers) and Bianca (Joy Sunday) will also return, as will former love interest Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan).
