Steph Curry showed up at the Met Gala with his wife, Ayesha, but he wasn’t afraid to admit that attending the fashion world’s biggest night wasn’t exactly his first choice.
The Golden State Warriors star told E! News host Zuri Hall that the evening came with a bittersweet edge. “On one hand, I love it,” he said. “On the other hand, that means I’m not playing basketball right now.”
The couple arrived in coordinated all-black looks. Steph wore a hooded suit jacket, while Ayesha turned heads in a sheer black dress with a leather jacket draped around her arms.
Just a few blocks from the Met Gala, the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers faced off for Game 1 of their second-round NBA playoffs series. In mid-April, the Golden State Warriors were eliminated from the postseason and failed to secure the eighth seed in the Western Conference playoffs after losing to the Phoenix Suns, 111-96.
Following the loss, Steph and Ayesha attended the second weekend of Coachella in Indio, California.
During the weekend in New York City, before the Met Gala, the pair enjoyed a few days of shopping and seeing the sights with their oldest kid, 13-year-old Riley.
