Halle Bailey just got the cutest surprise from her boyfriend, rapper DDG, when he presented her with statuettes for the things he loves about her at the Halle Awards, a super-exclusive event held in the family’s living room. The sweetness made her cry, and it might make you cry too.
The rapper surprised the Little Mermaid star by asking her to take a seat while she fed their son, Halo. She immediately knew something was up. “I’m very suspicious. What are you doing?” Bailey asked, but DDG just plowed ahead, announcing the nominees (Halle, Halle, Halle, and Halle) and then the winner: Halle. She got an award for best catsitter, likely purchased from a souvenir shop in Hollywood. The next award was for best woman and, believe it or not, it went to Bailey.
She then got an award for best artist for her latest single, “In Your Hands,” and it was at this point that Halle Bailey ran out of hands to hold her awards and her son started crying a bit. DDG awarded her best sweetheart and best partner before picking up Halo and having the baby present her with best mother.
The swoop in for the cheek kiss at the end? I am cry.
