When buying any pair of high-quality gadgets and consumer technology, there are a handful of things you are always looking for. Noise cancelling headphones bring their own challenges to the table, but much of what we seek is the same as in any other item we’d use day to day. Is it comfortable, does it look nice, and does it work? These are the main questions we ask when looking to buy noise cancelling headphones and other tech-wear.

Comfort: You would be astounded at how many headphones we try that aren’t comfortable past the 30 minute mark. We understand the need for something you can wear for hours without even noticing the weight or feel of cold, hard plastic.

Functionality: When it comes to noise cancelling headphones, functionality means things like battery life, UI/UX, and compatibility. These headphones have been tested for days on a variety of devices to ensure they are truly the most long-lasting and reliable pairs money can buy.

ANC: Active noise cancellation (or active noise control) is what you should be looking for when scoping out noise cancelling headphones. Different brands have different proprietary ANCs so your audio experience will differ slightly.

Simply seeing ANC marked on a box won’t give you all the info you need to make a purchasing decision. Some models are better at drowning out low frequencies, while others miss those and instead focus on high frequency sounds. Some headphones allow you to adjust the ANC while others simply have an on and off toggle.
