Todd Snyder’s knack for easygoing menswear has made him a trusted go-to for everything from crewnecks to Italian-made suits. But in addition to his ever-changing lineup of wardrobe essentials, Snyder is also known as a master of the collaboration, with a string of co-branded bangers from American legends like Champion, Woolrich, Timex, and New Era. Snyder’s latest collaboration, a limited-edition field watch he co-designed with Nashville-based Weiss Watch, adds another covetable accessory to his inventory while spotlighting one of America’s best indie watch brands.
“I always seek to partner with the best of the best. Weiss Watch Company shares the same dedication to quality, craft, and timeless design that we champion in our menswear,” Snyder explains. Launched by lifelong watch enthusiast Cameron Weiss, Weiss Watch embodies these qualities in its lineup of field watches and divers, all made by hand in Weiss’s Nashville workshop.
An aspiring watchmaker since childhood, Weiss received his first set of watchmaking tools as a high-school graduation present and went on to train with Swiss heavyweights including Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin before setting up his own brand in 2013. Weiss is best known for the Standard Issue Field Watch, which combines WWII-inspired looks with top-shelf components including sapphire crystals, Horween leather straps, and hand-assembled and hand-finished Swiss movements.
Given Snyder’s love of classic military and workwear designs, especially those with American-made credibility, it’s no surprise that Weiss proved an ideal creative partner. Based on Weiss’s signature piece, the Todd Snyder x Weiss Watch Company 38MM Standard Issue Watch features a classic field watch layout with a small seconds subdial and pilot-style hands.
You can choose between two versions, each limited to just 30 pieces, both featuring hand-painted dials with matching hand-stitched leather straps and 316L stainless steel cases. “Together, we’ve created a watch that not only embodies classic American craftsmanship but also speaks to modern style and utility,” Snyder says. “It’s a piece that’s made to last—both in durability and in style.” It’s also, naturally, a perfect companion to Snyder’s fall lineup of fisherman sweaters, corduroys, and suede jackets.
