Satou Sabally Wins!

After a WNBA season dominated by the consensus two best teams, in which the more dominant Las Vegas Aces toppled the slightly less dominant New York Liberty to win the title, we finally have an upset. That’s right: Dallas Wings star Satou Sabally beat A’ja Wilson to take home the trophy as the WNBA’s Most Stylish Player, as voted by you. Sabally, 25, is one of the new faces of the WNBA, and certainly a first-ballot player when it comes to style: she’s been a constant in our Biggest Fits of the Week feature. Best of all? We’re pretty sure she’s just getting started.

This was a huge year for the WNBA—and that was true in the pregame tunnel, too. Which means we can wait to come back and do all this again next season. We’ll see you then.

The Finals

The WNBA Finals are over; the Las Vegas Aces are, for the second consecutive year, champs. And now it’s time to give out one more trophy—the one for the league’s most stylish player. Strong stuff in the semifinals: freshly-minted Finals MVP A’ja Wilson defeated her teammate (also, it should be said, a freakin’ WNBA champion) Kelsey Plum, while Satou Sabally took down Natasha Cloud.

So here we are, with perhaps the league’s starriest star set to face off against one of its best-dressed up-and-comers. It’s gonna be a knock-down, drag-out, very very stylish fight. So go vote! Now! On the GQ Sports Instagram, and come back here tomorrow to see who’ll be taking home the trophy.

The Semifinals

And now, things are getting interesting. In the quarters, Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum dispatched Rae Burrell, while her teammate A’ja Wilson edged past Courtney Williams. Washington Mystics star Natasha Cloud triumphed over Nalyssa Smith, while Most Improved Player Satou Sabally knocked off Kahleah Copper.

Which sets up quite the heavy next-to-last round. Cloud and Sabally will tussle on one side of the bracket, while on the other we’ll have a battle of the Aces. Head over to the GQ Sports Instagram to vote, and check back here tomorrow to see who’ll be facing off in the finals.

The Quarterfinals

With the WNBA Finals set for a pivotal Game 4 on Wednesday, the first round of our almost-as-important tournament is in the books. And Round 1 of our most stylish bracket had its share of chalk results and proper upsets. Finals participants Kelsey Plum and A’ja Wilson stayed alive in this tournament, too, while Kaleah Copper knocked off Liberty star Breanna Stewart. Pre-tourney favorite Shatori Walker-Kimbrough was upset by Courtney Williams, while Satou Sabally mounted a last-minute comeback to edge past Dijonai Carrington.
