Robert Downey Jr. likes to have fun when it comes to his suits. While formalwear is traditionally very, well… formal, the Iron Man star isn’t afraid of a little experimentation. He did it at the Annual Governors Awards. He did it at the Oscars. And he did it once again, during Chris Hemsworth’s Walk of Fame ceremony in Hollywood yesterday.

Featuring a double-breasted design, Downey Jr’s ensemble was crafted from a silky material with a unique pattern that showed off some of Los Angeles’ biggest landmarks. We’re talking Beverly Hills, the TCL Chinese Theater, and, of course, the iconic Hollywood Sign.

The real stars of the show, though, were his sharply creased, dramatically flared trousers, which lent the whole affair a groovy ‘70s energy. Downey Jr. finished things off with a pair of chunky-soled oxblood bloods and the iconic TAG Heuer Monaco—a glamorous racing watch that was most famously worn by Steve McQueen in 1969’s Le Mans.
