Ja Morant debuted his third signature sneaker, the Nike Ja 3 ‘Max Volume,’ in a blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs. While the game itself might be one to forget for Morant and the Grizzlies, the shoes are still noteworthy.
“I told the Nike design team I needed something that talks before I even lace it up. I wanted my third signature shoe to feel like my game and my personality,” Morant said in a press release. “I told them, ‘Don’t be scared. Push it. Make it rugged, make it different.’ And they ran with it.”
The Nike Ja 3’s standout feature is its lightweight textile upper that incorporates an expanded monogram of Morant’s logo that transitions its “scratch” design into the cupsole. The Kurim-reinforced upper utilizes cut-out layers for breathability, while the logo-pattern continues onto the outsole, becoming its traction pattern. As for its cushioning, the model full-length ZoomX foam is layered over ZoomX scrap for additional responsiveness.
“When you put on the Ja 3, I want you to feel fearless. Like you can go create your own story—on the court, off it. Just be you, loud and proud. That’s what I’m about. No limits, no second guessing. Just go,” said Morant.
According to the press release, the Nike Ja 3 will be available in Fall 2025, but a specific date and price are yet to be revealed.
