Almost five years later, Kyle Kuzma still can’t live down the fact that he wore a massive, oversized pink sweater before an NBA game.
The 30-year-old Milwaukee Bucks forward debuted one of the craziest pre-game outfits in NBA history in November 2021 during his first season with the Washington Wizards. The oversized pink Raf Simons sweater instantly went viral, prompting reactions from fans and the rest of the league, with LeBron James calling the outfit “outrageous.”
Recently, someone on X, formerly Twitter, sought to resurrect the wild look and added, “Can’t trust someone who makes the decision to dress like this in public.”
Kuzma, in a defensive response, reposted the tweet and added, “I was young leave me alone.”
It’s not the first time in recent memory that Kuzma’s bold fashion choice was clowned on. Brothers Lonzo Ball and GELO appeared on an episode of Complex’s GOAT Talk last year, in which they shared their thoughts on the worst of all time NBA tunnel fit.
“Probably that long ass pink shirt, or them n***as that be wearing them fishnets,” said GELO. “I don’t get down with it.”
Lonzo added, “Hey, Kuz, why did that shit really pop into my mind? Lowkey, the pink Kuz sweater was nasty as fuck. The Dr Seuss joint.”
In 2023, the Washington Wizards even held a giveaway for a bobblehead depicting Kuzma in his big sweater, offering 10,000 fans the chance to walk away with a piece of history.
In an interview with Complex in 2022, Kuzma suggested that he’s never going to wear something that wild again.
“It’s an art piece. I’m never wearing that again. It’s not really a thing that you’re going to wear out,” Kuzma told Complex at the time. “It’s definitely something that’s going to live on forever.”
And live forever it shall.
