Jennifer Lopez reportedly sees year 55 as a “fresh start” amid those Ben Affleck divorce rumors.
On July 24, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the pop star—who recently celebrated her 55th birthday with a Bridgerton-themed party in the Hamptons—is “doing her best to stay positive and focus on the great things in her life.” The source continued, “It has been a hard year with some unexpected realizations, changes, and obstacles, but Jen is trying to view her 55th birthday as a fresh start. She is trying not to let her situation with Ben bring her down.”
Lopez threw herself a giant Bridgerton-inspired ball on July 20, just four days shy of her actual birthday on the 24th. While Lopez has been vacationing in the Hamptons since the start of the month, Affleck remained in Los Angeles and did not make the cross-country trip for the soirée. Even so, Lopez had a “splendid evening,” complete with stunning ball gowns, horse-drawn carriages, choreographed dancing, and a dramatic mid-party costume change from the birthday girl.

On July 24, Lopez thanked her followers for their well-wishes on her actual birthday, posing in front of a “Happy Birthday” banner while dressed in Eberjey’s Inez Washable Silk Long PJ Set in “surf spray,” which she had embroidered with “JL’s golden birthday 7-24-24.” The set, which retails for $298, comes in 12 colors and ranges from size XS—XL.
In her candid message to fans, Jennifer Lopez reflected on her “extraordinary journey,” admitting she still feels “tender, fragile and sometimes frightened” on the inside, “but always so full of love.”
“I really do have the best, most amazing fans in the world. I could never express how moved I am or how incredibly blessed I feel to have all of you be a part of my life,” she wrote to her followers, in part. “It’s hard to believe we have spent all this time together. It’s funny as I sit here contemplating on the most extraordinary journey I still feel like the same girl starting out so full of energy and bravado, so ready to take on the whole world on the outside and yet so tender, fragile and sometimes frightened but always full of love on the inside.”
