Flower sandals are one of those shoe styles that immediately grabs you. As much as we love an elegant minimalist open-toe shoe, there’s something special about how flower sandals add a sense of drama to any outfit. And they’re wearable with more than you’d think, from great denim and a white tee to an elegant wedding-guest dress.

As we start to enjoy warmer, sunnier days and think about our upcoming summer vacations and much-needed weekends away, there’s no better time to amp up our summer footwear with a pair (or two) of flower sandals that evoke the whimsy of the season (and Carrie Bradshaw’s signature Sex and the City style).

After a handful of seasons that were dominated by simple, somewhat austere quiet luxury and “stealth wealth,” the tide is shifting toward a more colorful—and simply, more joyful—way of dressing. We’ve seen this play out with accessories like kitschy bag charms dangling from the straps of everything from oversized totes to retro baguette styles, more-is-more maximalist jewelry, and a hyper-focus on wearing color. Basically, we’re wearing whatever we want (and, some might say, dressing in a way that really only makes sense in our own heads), and there’s never been a better time to have fun with fashion.
