On September 13, the Materialists star was photographed leaving the 2026 US Open men’s singles championships with the cozy layering piece slung over her shoulder, revealing a romantic white silk camisole underneath. That combination alone blends leftover summer staples with classic fall fixtures before we even get into her crisp denim and black buckle booties. Of course, this is Dakota “Denim” Johnson we’re talking about, so the focus really does need to be on her jeans, which took the nostalgic look to a new, refined level.
The only thing really keeping this look from becoming a 2010s time capsule are the Levis 501s she wore in place of the era’s favored skinny jeans. If you can believe it, Johnson also spent years stuffing her skinny jeans into the shafts of her ankle boots until discovering the freedom of skinny capris and boyfriend jeans around 2015.
