It’s Lyst Index time again, and Chanel has been declared the hottest brand for the first quarter of 2026.
Wednesday (April 29), the latest iteration of the widely cited report, covering the period from January through March of this year, was made public, with Chanel—which named Bottega Veneta alum Matthieu Blazy its creative director back in 2024—indeed revealed as being atop the hottest brands ranking.
For the Q126 report, which also includes breakdowns of the hottest products and the latest industry trends, the Lyst team employed a new methodology when putting together their rankings. In short, these three “data dimensions,” per press notes, are key to the ranking process: desire, demand, and discovery.
Chanel’s distinction of being the current “hottest brand” finds the French luxury label coming out on top ahead of Saint Laurent, Dior, Miu Miu, and Gucci. The latter, notably, jumps four positions when compared with the most recent Lyst Index report, marking the Italian house’s first appearance in the top five since the fourth quarter of 2022.

As for products, the No. 1 spot goes to Saint Laurent’s Stand-Collar Jacket, which experienced a month-on-month increase in demand of over 5,000 percent. See how other wildly popular pieces from Adidas, Vivienne Westwood, and more fared below.
Declared the “breakout brand” for the quarter spanning from January through March is Zara, which earlier this year got an undeniable boost thanks to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performance. As we reported at the time, Benito rocked a custom look from the Spain-headquartered fashion retailer for the performance, which should stand tall for years to come as one of the league’s best.
