To celebrate his recent collaboration with Takashi Murakami, rapper JP the Wavy commissioned Alex Moss to create a custom chain and dual pendants based on the Japanese artist’s iconic artwork.

Murakami created a caricature for JP Wavy to coincide with their latest collaboration, the Louis Vuitton collection-inspired “LV MURAKAMI,” and the rapper has had it turned into a one-of-one piece thanks to Alex Moss. The main pendant features the character based on JP Wavy with hand-crafted details that were achieved through the use of a microscope.

The eyes, nostrils, whiskers, and ears on the pendant are hand-painted enamel, as is the Mount Fuji-inspired clasp. The stones featured on the pendant and chain, meanwhile, consist of various colors of diamonds, sapphires, topaz, tanzanite, amethyst, rubies, tsavorite, and peridot.

JP Wavy and Murakami recently teamed up for a song that serves as a theme song to the contemporary artist and designer’s ongoing collaboration with Louis Vuitton.

They previously worked together when Wavy made the theme song for Murakami’s 2024 exhibition, Takashi Murakami Mononoke Kyoto.
