Salehe Bembury’s Spunge brand has just introduced its second silhouette, the Lumina. Similar to the brand’s first silhouette, the Osmosis, it once again features Squish Tech cushioning—this time with a full-length caged foam footbed, and is now 15 percent lighter than the previous model.

The sneaker also features a multi-material upper using Mono-Lite, a lightweight monomesh that’s both breathable and durable. The panels of the upper are designed to overlap, creating color and depth through the layering.

Despite being a new model, the Lunina is immediately recognizable as a Spunge design thanks to elements like the tongue’s haptic texture. “We made sure that even though we were introducing something completely fresh, the design lines and the signature details felt heritage,” says Bembury in a press release. “It was primarily inspired by research and then trying to introduce some new ideas and new thought. And this is the result of that.”

The launch colorway, known as “Cenote” features shades of green across the upper, midsole, and outside, with blue and purple tones on the laces, tongue, and lining. Bembury says the choices of color come from his gut rather than being data based. “With color juxtaposition, it can either make the audience comfortable or intimidated, and that difference really exists within a few shades of a hue. I just think this color is fire.”

The Spunge Lumina “Cenote” retails for $160 and releases early on October 28 at 12pm ET for fans that sign up for the Spunge newsletter at beaspunge.com. The public release follows on October 29 at 12pm EST. Check out a closer look in the gallery below.
