During Paris Fashion Week, Pharrell and Louis Vuitton unveiled a new sneaker for Spring/Summer 2027—and the shoes have already become a hot topic.

The new sneakers, seen in images below, are named the Louis Vuitton Combi and were previewed by both Skateboard P and the French fashion house.

The silhouette of the shoe has drawn many comparisons, especially to the classic Vans Authentic. Featuring a two-piece upper with stitching at the midfoot that connects both panels, the sneakers will come in a variety of colorways, including multiple takes on LV monogram prints.

How did Vans respond to Pharell’s Louis Vuitton sneakers?

Shortly after Pharell previewed the shoes on social media, Vans responded directly by commenting on the initial post. “Ohhhh bet,” the brand wrote in the comments.

The brand went a step further and shared a picture of the Vans Authentics with the caption, “Wanna know the time? Better clock us.” The caption is a direct quote from Clipse’s 2006 track “Mr. Me Too,” which Pharrell co-produced as part of the Neptunes and also featured on.

Has anyone else commented on the resemblance?

Pharrell’s frequent collaborator Tyler, the Creator—who has worked with Louis Vuitton on his Golf Wang and Le Fleur brands—responded to comparisons to the Vans Authentics in an Instagram comment.

“Y’ALL KNOW THIS STYLE OF DECK SHOE FOR BOATS HAS BEEN AROUND BEFORE VANS CORRECT? PRO KEDS, CONVERSE, ETC.,” he wrote in all caps.

Tyler has also frequently collaborated with Converse.
