Sofia Richie’s ‘In-Between Bob’ Is the Cure for Short Hair’s Awkward Growing-Out Stage

If you’re wondering why so many celebrities are rocking shoulder-length styles this summer, just remember how many bobs and pixie cuts tempted the masses these past few years. With a new variation trending every other day, it was only a matter of time until we all reach that awkward growing out stage. Now, Sofia Richie Grange is modeling the solution.

On June 11, the 27-years-old style influencer and fashion designer debuted a shaggy “in-between bob,” courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Nicolas Flores. The goal was to freshen up the SRG founder’s look without losing precious inches.

“We’re growing out her hair, but she needed change so we added in a little curtain fringe and soft layering for texture and movement while maintaining the length,” the FLORE Los Angeles co-founder tells Glamour of the transitional “in-between bob,” noting that many of his clients have been requesting long and mid-length cuts below the collar bone for summer 2026.
