J.Crew and Timex are back together with a new limited-edition watch dropping later this month.
On Tuesday (May 26), the two iconic brands introduced the Timex MK1 for J.Crew, a limited-edition reinterpretation of one of Timex’s most enduring designs. The project marks the first collaboration between the two American brands in more than a decade.
Per a press statement, J.Crew turned to Timex for this project, a watchmaker with a legacy dating back to 1854 and a reputation for precision, durability, and timeless design. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to heritage, quality, and enduring design.
Originally inspired by military field watches, the MK1 is defined by clarity and purpose. This edition refines the foundation with a gold-toned stainless steel case, quartz movement, and a braided brown leather strap. The dial is intentionally simple for readability and ease of wear.
A subtle detail nods to J.Crew’s outdoor connection with a small brook trout illustration based on an original watercolor painting by the brand’s in-house artist and avid angler. The detail is presented as deliberate and understated rather than functional, making it a distinction from fishing or diving watches.
Photographed by Sam Nicklin, the campaign draws on faux retro advertising aesthetics blending nostalgia with modern sensibility. It captures daily rituals from breakfast tables to games and outdoor moments and frames the watch as part of everyday life.
The Timex MK1 for J.Crew will be available for purchase on Thursday (May 28) via Timex and J.Crew’s online stores as well as select J.Crew retail locations. The Gold-plated stainless steel watch is priced at $198 USD and features a 36mm case and 18mm lug.
