Intentionally or not, Ryan Reynolds has turned the Deadpool & Wolverine press tour into a tour de force of covetable menswear. Earlier this month, the Canadian actor hit the press junket in Shanghai wearing a lovely knit shirt from Wax London. (Naturally, it sold out immediately.) But just when we thought he was done making us jealous, the guy turns up in a Bode shirt. And then another, and another, and another—all in the span of a single week.
On July 4th, the Wrexham co-owner attended a Q&A session in Seoul rocking one of the brand’s peachy Blackjack shirts, distinguished by the cute characters stitched to the chest and torso, par for the course when it comes to Bode’s vintage-inflected riff on homespun Americana.
The Blackjack shirt was was inspired by an embroidered tablecloth and napkin set from the ’50s, pretty groovy reference material even the most elite dressers would struggle to top. But just a few hours later, Reynolds pulled up to a red carpet event in a different embroidered shirt from Bode—and that one’s not even available to the public yet.

The actor didn’t stop there. Two days later, Reynolds made a surprise cameo at the Netherlands vs Türkiye match in Berlin, where he was joined by co-star Hugh Jackman—and reunited with Bode, courtesy of the brand’s Garden Sampler shirt. In case you’re wondering, the inspiration behind that piece was a coat from the ’20s, and every single bead on it was applied by hand using a centuries-old technique pioneered in the 1700s. Bode is as Bode does, basically.

For the grand finale, Reynolds landed in rainy London wearing yet another Bode stunner, this one inspired by the pattern on a retro scarf, and crafted using the same unique beading method.
The best bit? The majority of the shirts the newly-minted Bode Boy wore this week are still widely available to the masses. As you might expect, inventory is moving fast, so if you want gear up like Marvel’s most lovably nihilist franchise star, we’d suggest smashing the buy button with Deadpool-like speed. ‘Maximum effort’, indeed.
