Zara and Willy Chavarria have partnered on a new collection called Vatísmo.
The collaboration marries Chavarria’s creativity with Zara’s global audience, and is accompanied by a short film. Directed by Glen Luchford and Willy Chavarria, it stars supermodel Christy Turlington and actor Alberto Guerra. Shot in Mexico, the short “channels the intensity of telenovelas, unfolding a fatal love quadrangle shaped by power, jealousy, and desire,” according to a press release.
The ready-to-wear collection includes various garments, accessories, and jewelry, all emblazoned with delicate red roses as a nod to Chavarria. “The collection celebrates Latin American influence with a rich, global perspective of diverse identities and plurality. This is a portrait of Willy’s own Chicano cultural identity through the lens of contemporary fashion consciousness,” the release adds.
Starting March 26, the entire Vatísmo collection for men and women will be available to shop at a pop-up store at 73 Spring Street in New York. The collection will launch worldwide, in select stores, and at Zara.com on the same day.
