Will there be a Ransom Canyon season 2?
It looks highly likely. Showrunner and series creator April Blair talked to Deadline a few days after the first season dropped on Netflix, and seemed pretty confident about the chances, candidly mentioning character arcs that would continue into a second season, only sometimes adding the caveat that these ideas were just “potential.” She even said that she and the writers are already “in the room” for a second season, which means Netflix has put at least some money into the idea, even if they haven’t gotten the green light to actually film more episodes.
What is Ransom Canyon about?
With a sprawling cast and interconnected storylines, the series is broadly a small town drama about grief, loss, power and love. But most of the buzz centers on the will they/won’t they romance of Staten (Josh Duhamel) and Quinn (Minka Kelly), the latter of whom is agonizing over whether or not to leave Texas behind to pursue her musical dreams in New York.
