Meghan Markle Wore Clean Girl Soap Nails in 'With Love Meghan' Get the Look

Markle has cracked the code: the Sussex manicure is the perfect nude. In fact, it’s already influenced two Glamour editors to try to paint their nails the exact same milky color.

Markle has not shared the polish she used, though judging from the ultraglossy finish and thickness, it seems to be gel. We might not all be able to make a rainbow crudités platter, but staring at a screenshot of Markle’s nails and comparing with to swatches at the nail salon is something we can all reasonably execute.

After going back and forth on the nuances of milky versus nude, Glamour editors decided to launch a formal investigation. Ahead, our manicure-obsessed staff give their best educated guess on Markle’s exact nail color.

Essie Matter of Fiction

Matter of Fiction Gel Couture Nail Polish

I’ve been a forever devotee of Essie’s Ballet Slippers regardless of the season (and long before it was Kate Middleton’s rumored color of choice). I’ve been in my wintery dark nail era lately, but after watching With Love, Meghan, I was so captivated by her pretty, opaque pink nails that I had to swap out. I’m fairly certain hers are gel (you don’t get that nice sheen with the regular ol’ polish I use), but Essie Matter of Fiction seems close enough. It’s as if Fiji and Ballet Slippers (IYKYK) had a baby. I find the gel couture polish actually lasts longer too. Usually I chip on the way home from the nail salon, but I can get a week out of this polish. —Brie Schwartz, commerce director

OPI Bubble Bath

If I had to guess what nail polish Meghan Markle—errr, Sussex—is sporting in With Love, Meghan, I’d bet money on it being OPI’s Bubble Bath. This creamy white polish with pink undertones is a cult classic, reads totally timeless, and kind of hits the quiet luxury mantra on the head. While it’s arguable that Meghan’s show is nothing but quiet when it comes to splurging (after all, she did suggest heading to your local beekeeper for the freshest honey), make no mistake that her nail color is a nice blend of understated and posh, which is exactly the type of mani Bubble Bath gives you. —Alanna Martine Kilkeary, commerce writer

Manucurist Milky White

I have scoured the internet trying to find the most accurate With Love, Meghan nail color and have come to the conclusion that Markle’s is a custom shade. Think about it: Would a woman who makes her own bath salts and jams from scratch be satisfied with a color straight out of the bottle? No! She would mix her own custom shade to get the milkiness and nudeness just right. To me, it’s a combination of semisheer nude and pale pink gel polishes that have been layered on top of each other quite a few times. I don’t think the color is totally opaque (or maybe I’ve just been staring at her nails too long), which gives it that shiny soap-nails quality. But if I had to choose something that most closely resembles the Sussex manicure, it would be Milky White from Manucurist, which is not too white and has the same buildable coverage. —Ariana Yaptangco, senior beauty editor
