One of the many benefits of being Taylor Swift’s main squeeze is that sometimes you get to pal around with royalty. Travis Kelce’s first impression of Prince William? “Dude, he was the coolest motherfucker.” And I guess Kelce would know.
The NFL star and Certified Golden Retriever Boyfriend got to meet Prince William and his kids Princess Charlotte and Prince George when they attended Swift’s Eras Tour show in London on June 21. Swift posted a selfie of the five of them together on Instagram, writing, “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start.” The official Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram, for their part, posted, “Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening! #LondonTSTheErastour.”

Travis Kelce looked jazzed to meet the British royals in the photo, and now he has confirmed that he thought the Prince of Wales was the bomb dot com. Reflecting on the meeting on their New Heights podcast, both Brothers Kelce agreed that Prince William was “so cool” and “awesome.”
Jason Kelce, who also got to meet the Waleses said, “They were wonderful people, and that’s what it’s about. You know? Obviously, literally part of a monarchy, royalty. Yeah. Hard to be a down to earth human being, I would assume. But came off that way completely.” His brother agreed, “Very genuine. Very cool.” Even though Travis said he did have a hard time at first figuring out whether to bow, curtsy, or, “just be an American idiot and shake their hand.”
Also in the episode, Travis was, as usual, full of praise for his girlfriend. “Playing in front of 90,000 at Wembley Stadium—I remember 2015 playing in front of 80,000 at Wembley Stadium and then seeing Tay up there, going crazy,” he said, adding with a laugh, “They get a lot louder for Taylor than they do for American football.”
