Tommy Hilfiger is looking to the past, albeit without totally turning away from the future, for its latest limited-edition collection in commemoration of its proven embodiment of decades’ worth of sailing influences. The collection, known as, simply, the Hilfiger Sailing Collection, spans 22 pieces and is said to be deeply inspired by the unique sensations of sailing down the Hudson.
In a statement, the man himself underscored his namesake label’s long-standing love affair with a distinctly nautical lifestyle.
“The open water and the yachting lifestyle have always carried a sense of freedom and adventure,” Hilfiger, whose recent roster of stars seen prominently wearing his brand includes The White Lotus’ Patrick Schwarzenegger, said in a press release. “Since the early ‘90s, our collections have captured the spirit of the sea, embracing maritime influences and blending relaxed sailing-inspired design with timeless prep. This collection is a tribute to that passion, a modern interpretation of our nautical heritage that remains true to the pioneering spirit of the brand.”
Versatilely designed technical regatta jackets are joined in the 22-piece, limited-edition capsule by fleece hoodies, striped tees, and nylon deck coats. Each piece, from a design perspective, takes care to keep the brand’s 40 years of nautical history at the forefront, while also suggesting the timeless utility and style at the heart of the brand’s ethos.
Pieces from the Hilfiger Sailing Collection are available starting today, April 9, via the official Tommy site and in Tommy Hilfiger stores globally. Below, get a closer look at select pieces from the collection.
