As it turns out, even former professional athletes aren’t immune to sneaker-related crimes.
According to WREG, Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway is a recent victim of theft, and what was stolen from the former NBA All-Star were several pairs of unreleased Nike Foamposite styles.
According to the police report that was filed and obtained by the aforementioned news outlet, 26 pairs of Foamposites were stolen from Hardaway’s porch on Aug. 8. Memphis police also released images of the alleged thief (pictured below), where he can be seen pushing a shopping cart of the stolen sneakers. An image for one of the pairs was also shared, which shows an unreleased PE colorway of the Foamposite One that appears to be inspired by the college team that Hardaway coaches, the Memphis Tigers.
Memphis police say that the suspect is still at large and anyone who comes across the stolen sneakers is to report it to the authorities.
