Looking for cashmere on sale this Cyber Monday? You’ve come to the right place. I’ve been on a bit of a cashmere kick lately, which is why—sifting through countless pages across countless retailers, hunched over my computer like a gargoyle, almost untethered from this very plane of existence—I was delighted to find no shortage of the luxurious cold-weather fabric in the Cyber Week mix.
If you’re reading this, I probably don’t have to sell you on cashmere’s winning qualities. But on the off chance you’re an Andromedan who touched down on Earth this morning, allow me to explain. Cashmere is incredibly warm, soft, and lightweight. It also manages to spice up even the blandest of fits; throw a cashmere sweater over a plain ol’ T-shirt and khakis, and boom, you might as well be Brunello Cucinelli. (For our Andromedan friends, Brunello is like the president of Italy, only more prone to quoting Socrates.)
Comparing a cashmere sweater to a wool one is like comparing marshmallows to Brillo pads—if marshmallows came in a Crayola’s box worth of colors you actually want to wear. (I’m partial to cashmere in rich, saturated hues.) And as long as we’re educating the extraterrestrial masses on cashmere’s defining characteristics, I’d be remiss not mention the Seinfeld episode dedicated to it, which doubles as a crash course in both human nature and the fabric’s enduring appeal.
The one downside? Cashmere ain’t cheap—usually. Thanks to Cyber Monday, though, there’s so much cashmere on sale you’ll never stress a pesky red dot. I wouldn’t wait for the discounts to get any better, either; this is probably the last day you can expect to score a discounted cashmere sweater for up to 40% off.
