Dominic “The Surgeon” Ciambrone’s custom work has been seemingly everywhere since he began creating one-of-a-kind sneakers nearly two decades ago. And this past weekend, Ciambrone’s latest work was on full display during the much-anticipated boxing match between Canelo Alvarez and Edgar Berlanga.
This fight marked the first time Ciambrone created custom boots for both boxers in the main card. In the images shared by the customizer and the fighters on Instagram, Alvarez wore a special orange and brown boot that featured his signature logo at the midfoot. Berlanga had a Rick Owens-inspired boot, sporting a black-based color scheme with his logo stamped on the heel.
In addition, Ciambrone also designed custom boots for boxers Stephen Fulton Jr. and Caleb Plant, who were also featured on the fight card. Fulton wore a custom version of the Maison Margiela Future High, while Plant had on a Nike Kobe 4 “Girl Dad”-inspired boot.
