Just a couple weeks out from its official Valentine’s Day release date, Netflix has dropped the first Love Is Blind season 8 trailer, and we have a lot to talk about.
The first half of the two-minute clip starts off upbeat, and we’re promised lots of deep conversations, jokes, and maybe a minor love triangle or two. But then, of course, the trailer starts to get into some of the drama that happens after the contestants get out of the pods.
One woman brings up, “this girl on TikTok who’s crying.” Another man says, rather ominously, “she had a boyfriend going into this.” Cut to someone else saying, without context, “he’s a huge liar.” It looks like possibly someone’s ex-boyfriend lives in the same apartment building as the couple, there’s going to be at least one debate over whether or not to sign a prenup, and the trailer ends with what could be a runaway bride. So, you know, the usual Love Is Blind stuff.
Season eight of the Netflix reality dating show takes place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where the dating pool is already small. One season eight contestant, Alex, who appeared on the season seven reunion, told Vanessa Lachey, “It’s such a small community. It’s not a major city, but it’s also not a small town, so you kind of see the same people over and over.” And if the first trailer is any indication, that’s going to cause some issues with the lovers once they’re back in the real world.
