For film actors, winning an Oscar is the ultimate feather in one’s cap, so to speak. But this year at the 2026 Oscars, many attendees wore them quite literally. Bird fashions weren’t a particularly strong trend for most of awards season, but on March 15 at the Dolby Theater, a new red carpet look suddenly sprang to life, like a phoenix, or perhaps a majestic peacock, and we were seeing the avian influence everywhere. Bird is the word.

Assuming this trend trickles down to the masses (cerulean sweater monologue, you get it), now’s the time to scan your wardrobe for a feathery item…or invest in a piece if you don’t have one. Don’t worry, we’ll show you how to shop this surprisingly wearable trend from the 2026 Oscars.

Priyanka Chopra looked gorgeous in a white Dior gown with a feather-y trim on the slit skirt. It’s hard to tell if this was achieved through actual feathers or the artful use of tulle, but either way, it’s definitely reminiscent of plumage. Maybe you don’t have an occasion for a white feather gown, but certainly you can find one for this white feather handbag ($178) from Anthropologie! Or if you’re really ambitious, wear this pattern as a jacket in a feathered “Dalmatian” coat ($1,850).
