The 12 Best Sneakers of 2025 (So Far)

Stone Island brought its expertly crafted Raso Gommato fabric to the New Balance 998 for a shoe that feels both wearable and luxe. The deep brown and purple tones are right on trend, too.

The Hoka x Marni sneaker builds from Hoka’s cloud-like Bondi shape but makes it even fluffier with a puffed-up upper. It comes in a few tonal colorways, but we’re partial to the all brown and all red.

On Air Max day this year, Nike dropped these Dn8 shoes with bright, visible air pockets that both give you a little bounce and stand out as a detail. The colors combinations are fun, often with a mix of something neutral on top and bold on bottom.

Salomon just keeps dropping hit after hit and the XT-Whisper is one of the most fun yet. It has a techy makeup, but the colors (especially in this pink variety) are all street.

As much as we love a bold sneaker drop, there’s maybe nothing more that we love than sneaker that people will really want to wear every day. So far, it’s New Balance’s 740 in an all gray mesh and suede upper.

Adidas is credited with producing the original German Army Trainers, and the brand reissued the classic design in a wearable white colorway and a black one.

There’s gotta be a Jordan on any best sneaker list, and this version with Union L.A. feels as laidback as it gets. It’s in the original Chicago Shadow colorway but with some visible stitching and a yellowed sole for even more of a vintage feel.

These are technically women’s shoes but when they look like this, does it matter at all? (Well, it might for sizing at least. For a unisex size, go up 1.5.) They’re bold, they’re high, and they’re cool as hell.

Bode designed this understated Astrograbber with Nike, and although the lime green version is getting most of the hype, we like the all-black, too. It’s a ’70s football shoe with delightfully visible waffle traction.

We, too, are guilty of getting the most excited about mash-ups and designer takes on classic shoes, but they needn’t get all the hype. These Brooks Running Adrenaline GTS 4s are really just your everyday sneaker, but we love them. The black and white upper feels like a 2025 version of the chunky shoe trend.

Loewe and On have been dropping some sneakers together the past few years, and we’re into this neutral-colored Cloudtilt. It’s a great investment for something that you can walk around in comfortably but still feel like you’ve pulled off a great outfit.

These GEL-NYC 2055s have just a few hits of pink on an otherwise neutral gray-and-cream shoe, and they are our favorite drop so far for a shoe that is wearable and cool as hell.
