Sydney Sweeney’s Instagram comment section is not a healthy place at the moment.
On May 29, the Euphoria star announced “Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss,” a new Dr. Squatch “men’s natural soap” bar infused with her “actual bathwater.” Yes, you read that right. It’s a “very real” bar of soap made with the water used in her body wash campaign with the same brand, which was released back in October 2024.
“Hey you dirty little boys. Are you interested in my body…wash?” Sweeney asked from a bathtub in the original campaign video. “Well, you can’t have it. Because this isn’t for boys, it’s for men.”
If the male gaze wasn’t staring you down hard enough, Sweeney and Dr. Squatch have continued the campaign by putting some of that water in a limited edition bar of soap, which fans can win in a 100-bar giveaway starting on May 29, or purchase for themselves on June 6.
“When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it, or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap,” Sydney Sweeney said in a statement. “It’s weird in the best way, and I love that we created something that’s not just unforgettable, it actually smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love. Hopefully, this helps guys wake up to the realities of conventional personal care products and pushes them towards natural.”

In case you’re wondering, the natural formula includes “exfoliating sand, pine bark extract, and, yes, a touch of Sydney’s real bathwater.” It reportedly smells of notes of pine, Douglas fir, and earthy moss. And yes, the comments on Sweeney’s Instagram announcement played out exactly how you’d expect.
While many men and anonymous accounts using pseudonyms and faceless avatars celebrate with uncomfy GIFs and suggestive comments, many were less-than-impressed with Sweeney for catering to men, sparking discourse about the definition of feminism in the replies.
