There is so much planning to do in terms of the writing and the characters. I know exactly what I want. I am playing around with there being a new character next season in a way that’s not confusing. I’m trying to keep in mind what would be the most interesting and exciting for people to watch while keeping it grounded and relatable.

Any other hints on what we can expect?

I’m not big on doing too much buildup to a season. Things could drop at any moment, so just be ready and always be checking in because I may not make it this neat little release day for everyone. I may just drop it on a Tuesday and let the people find it.

We call that the Beyoncé. You obviously have more time and resources than you did when you first created the series, but you don’t want to lose the authenticity that drew so many people to it in the first place. How do you navigate that?

Yeah, I also don’t want to make people wait too long and have them lose interest. So, it’s hard. I’m still figuring out how to balance it for sure. I want to obviously take all the opportunities and do everything that’s going to make the season cool. I want it to be really cool for people to watch, but I’m trying to balance how much do they care about where I’m shooting and what I’m able to accomplish with brands or celebrities versus, do they just want the season now?

Now that I have time to plan it out, as soon as season three is booked, I can start working on season four and get that out right after season three. I think this will be the longest pause that we have between group chat seasons, just because I’m so new on the scene and trying to figure out logistics.

You dropped the first “Group Chat” video on TikTok on March 30, and it now has nearly 35 million views. Is it safe to say your life has transformed in just a few months?

Yes, even when things were first blowing up, I don’t think I really even could see that far ahead as to how much things would change. I’m not full-time at my job anymore. The biggest change is that TikTok has become more of a full-time thing. It used to be something that I kind of just did after work or on the weekends, where I would film at 7:00 at night, edit, and post it late. I had some success with that, but this was really the thing that took it to the level where I’m now. My old full-time job is not my full-time job, and TikTok is more so my full-time job.

When did you first realize that you were going viral?

It actually really all happened in one day, because I posted the first video and it did really well. And then, I posted the second video, which boosted the first video. That was when Charlie Puth commented, and then my first video was hitting double digit millions and I was rapidly gaining followers. All these brands started jumping on board, the comment section blew up more, and all these brands started to show up.
