Can toys reach the same obsessively collected, forever-in-high-demand status of, say, some of the most coveted sneakers on the planet? That’s the aim of ghostwrite, a collectible brand started back in 2022 by StockX co-founder Josh Luber.

On Tuesday, August 13, the brand is making its unique silhouettes publicly available for the very first time. The initial public launch focuses on a trio of designs of the brand’s signature product, i.e. toys known as “ghosts” that are designed to serve as a platform for others to tell their stories, be it fellow brands or even individuals.

In a statement, Luber, also known for his work in getting Fanatics Collectibles off the ground, pushed back against any assertion that the ghost figure is merely “a character.” Instead, per Luber, he and his team are aiming to have the world view the figure as “a canvas” intended for “the artist and brands that we love.”
