KAWS has again been tapped by AllRightsReserved and Netflix to commemorate Squid Game’s historic run in collectibles form.

The new 15-inch collectible, launching on June 19, finds the artist’s signature COMPANION character being expanded into what’s billed in press notes as “a new male counterpart.” The new characters CHUL-SU, is seen wearing a striped top with a hat. CHUL-SU, made of vinyl, will exist in both colored and monotone iterations, each accompanied by an authenticity-confirming chip. Retail price is set at $320.

The latest KAWS link-up is a timely one, as Squid Game will soon be launching its third season on Netflix. Indeed, as fans of Hwang Dong-hyuk’s global blockbuster are well aware, the third (and final!) season will launch June 27, just in time to give viewers in the U.S. something to binge leading into Fourth of July festivities the following week.

There’s virtually zero chance the new episodes won’t continue the viewership precedent set by the previous two seasons, meaning we can expect no shortage of headlines in the coming weeks about streaming records being broken.

Critics’ opinions on the series has thus far bene overwhelmingly positive, contributing to strong showings at the Golden Globes and the Emmys. Lee Jung-jae, for example, took home the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series Emmy back in 2022.
