The extra-baggy wide leg pant will always look cool, and Sandra Bullock can prove it. Bullock was photographed running errands in Los Angeles on January 26, wearing an effortlessly chic and extremely replicable jeans-and-white-tee look. As always, it’s all in the styling. Just don’t overthink it.

With all the accessories, Bullock’s off-duty ensemble is just shy of a brownfit. She wore her ultra wide-leg jeans with classic Birkenstock clogs and a white tee, with a brown suede messenger bag slung over one shoulder. For warmth (it is January, after all, even in LA), she added a brown puffer jacket, letting her hair remain tucked under the collar. On top, she added a brown baseball cap and aviator sunglasses. Before you ask, no, we don’t know why she is carrying a blue Yeti cooler. It’s probably none of our business.
It is true that the chokehold baggy pants have had on our closets for many years has been loosening as of late. Bella Hadid, for one has been on the vanguard of bringing back skinny capri pants—which she was seen wearing just a few days prior. But that doesn’t mean wide-leg pants are going anywhere just yet. Jennifer Lopez showed us her fresh take on the wide-leg jean in January, pairing them with ultra-high heels and a sweater vest, in a quintessentially Jenny from the Block kind of way. And we’re pretty sure it will be a cold day in hell when Jennifer Lawrence, queen of street style casual, gives up her baggy pants and flat shoe uniform.
And as Bullock here demonstrates, a pair of comfortably baggy pants can also look extremely tidy—even when you pair them with Birkenstocks and a baseball cap.
