Back in December, there wasn’t a single “best sneakers of 2024” list that felt complete without Bode Rec. and Nike’s collaboration on the Astrograbber silhouette. That all changed when designer Emily Adams Bode Aujla decided to put her stamp on them, releasing two colorways in 2024—a creamy off-white knit and a sleek black leather rendition, both adorned with kitschy charms. The shoes made waves and sold out fast (anyone looking to cop a pair on the cheap may need to stick with the Nike Field General, a more accessible football trainer that also saw a re-release last year). First up, the ‘Black Mesh’ Astrograbber is exactly what it sounds like: all-black version of the shoe with a traditional mesh upper, offset by a gold football lace charm. For those hoping for more of a pop of color, the ‘Chlorphyll’ spin departs from the neutral tones that have defined the collaboration thus far, opting for a sleek and subtle green leather with a black swoosh, laces, and sole.
