Mindy Kaling’s kids rarely make an appearance on her social media, but the actor made an exception this Fourth of July. The star of The Mindy Project posted a series of snapshots from her laid back holiday with her three children, including a glimpse of baby Anne’s face.
“A sandy/salty skin/no makeup/freezing cold perfect waves/lots of sunscreen/frosting/outside for hours kind of Independence Day,” Kaling captioned the post, which included pictures and video of 6-year-old Katherine and 3-year-old Spencer playing in the grass, eating chocolate cupcakes, and exploring the beach. The carousel also featured a selfie of Kaling, 45, with her 5-month-old daughter Anne sitting on her lap. This is the first time Anne has made an appearance on Kaling’s Instagram since the actor announced her arrival into the world in June.

Mindy Kaling is notoriously private when it comes to her kids, even down to their paternity. As she did with her two older children, Kaling didn’t even announce that she was pregnant with Anne until after she was born. In late June, Kaling revealed on Instagram that she had given birth to her third child four months earlier.
“In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne,” Kaling wrote in the post. “She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined. When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life. I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!”
