Okay, we know the rules of the event say no phones, but Megan Thee Stallion snuck her phone into the Met Gala and the results are too endearing to ignore. We hope we don’t get you in trouble, Meg!
While inside the gala, Megan recorded videos of herself and some A-list pals, then posted the clandestine clips to her Instagram and TikTok accounts with the caption, “Hottie Cam in thee MET GALA 👀😏.” We’re seated.

The first clips show Meg and her tablemates, Doechii and Angel Reese, sampling the canapés and delivering their verdicts. The trio especially enjoyed the cornbread and caviar, as well as the white truffle lobster roll, but they were less sold on the vegan lox. Opinions were divided, however, on the truffle chopped cheese. Honestly, we could watch this all day.
Meg’s contraband phone also let the world in on some of the other gala festivities, including a brass band playing what sounded like the opening bars to House of Pain’s classic, “Jump Around.” After that the rapper went on a “scavenger hunt” for famous faces, and took a few short selfie videos with the likes of Tracee Ellis Ross, Cynthia Erivo, Tessa Thompson, Angela Bassett (“always tea”), Lupita Nyong’o, Serena Williams, and Michael “Swagga” Kors. Never have we had this much with illegal Met Gala phone content since Kylie Jenner posted selfies of a bunch of celebs smoking cigarettes in the bathroom.
The reactions to Megan Thee Stallion sneaking her phone into the Met Gala were, predictably, delightful. “Thank you Meg for sneaking that phone in! You made me feel like I was their with you friend,” wrote one TikTok commenter. Others joked that the content felt “illegal” and thanked Meg for her “service.” Many were especially tickled by the fact that Megan kept mentioning her own rule-breaking while continuing to break the rules.
