Marcus Jordan has admitted he has issues with substance abuse just weeks after he was hit with a DUI and found in possession of drugs.
In a new court filing obtained by TMZ Sports, Jordan’s legal team is looking for a judge to order him to complete a Pre-Trial Substance Abuse Education and Treatment Intervention Program to help him overcome “challenges” related to his “alcohol/substance use.” According to Jordan’s attorneys, the program would “not only benefit him personally but also serve the community by reducing the likelihood of future offenses.”
They also added that Jordan is “amenable to treatment” and will waive his right to a speedy trial if his request to enter the program is granted. There is no hearing date scheduled yet to discuss the motion.
Jordan was arrested on February 4 when police found him sitting in his Lamborghini Urus, which was parked on railroad tracks in Florida. An incident report from police claimed Jordan showed several visible signs of intoxication and even failed field sobriety tests. In addition to the report, body cam footage showed Jordan’s actions, which included arguing with authorities.
Police charged Jordan with one felony count of ketamine possession, one misdemeanor count of DUI with property damage, and one misdemeanor count of resisting an officer. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges last month.
Jordan responded to the situation in an Instagram Story post where he wrote, “I appreciate everyone reaching out. I’m focusing on @trophyroomstore right now and won’t be making any comments on recent media stories and my personal life.”
