Brothers Lonzo Ball and GELO are the latest to step into the GOAT Talk zone for Complex, resulting in an unfortunate distinction for Kyle Kuzma’s undeniably massive pink sweater circa 2021.
Deep into the new episode, available in full up top, a discussion of who should be given the title of GOAT rapper (both Lil Wayne and YoungBoy Never Broke Again get mentions) leads into a pull of the WOAT NBA tunnel fit card. Immediately, GELO points to Kuzma’s almost David Byrne-esque sweater look.
“Probably that long ass pink shirt, or them n***as that be wearing them fishnets,” the “Tweaker” artist said. “I don’t get down with it.”
Lonzo, meanwhile, linked the sweater, which later inspired the creation of a limited-edition bobblehead doll, to the world of the late Dr. Seuss.
“Hey, Kuz, why did that shit really pop into my mind?” Lonzo said. “Lowkey, the pink Kuz sweater was nasty as fuck. The Dr Seuss joint.”
Back in 2021, LeBron James was among those quick to have a little fun with Kuz’s choice of attire ahead of a Wizards and Hornets game. The sweater, a Raf Simons piece, was jokingly described as “outrageous” by LeBron.
“Ain’t no fucking way you wore that!” the Lakers star said at the time. “I’m not pressing the like button.”
In May, GELO continued building his discography with the release of new single “Booted Up.” His breakout hit “Tweaker,” meanwhile, is currently available on Complex Shop on premium 7-inch black vinyl. Side B of the limited-edition vinyl features the “Tweaker” remix with Weezy, who recently reunited with Weezer on Tha Carter VI.
