Fred Durst, whose stacked 2024 boasted not one but two A24 films and a standout track on HARDY’s Quit!! album, is once again bringing the Bizkit into headlines thanks to his playful and often tongue-in-cheek choice of stage attire.
As more studious Limp Bizkit fans are aware, the band’s Still Sucks era has seen Durst flirting with various onstage personas, including his Beastie Boys-esque Lollapalooza 2021 look.
Fast forward to 2025, and a video initially shared to TikTok by @chocobizkit shows Durst in what is assumed to be a wig, seemingly during one of LB’s recent stops on its Loserville U.K. and Europe tour.
The clip, which captures a portion of the band’s performance of Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water track “Livin’ It Up,” quickly made its way over to X, resulting in at least one user, @ESPNFrankie, dubbing Durst “Freddurst Douglass,” a joking nod to 19th century civil rights leader and writer, Frederick Douglass.
While Durst’s look was a shock to many this week, the Florida-born musician and filmmaker has donned a similar getup in the past, including for LB’s Pinkpop set in June 2024 and during a Sydney show one year prior.
At any rate, the “Freddurst Douglass” joke wasn’t alone, with the viral Durst clip also conjuring everything from the “Convict Santa” nickname to multiple Sideshow Bob comparisons.

Soon, Durst and Wes Borland and the rest of the Bizkit boys will be one of several bands providing support for Metallica’s ongoing M72 tour. Bizkit most last delivered a full-length with Still Sucks, featuring the single “Dad Vibes,” back in 2021. More recently, the Durst-fronted group has been in and out headlines in connection with its lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG).
