Last week, I told you guys that Westernwear was in for 2025, and in the days that have passed since, I’ve been proved right time and time again. Between the bolo ties at KidSuper’s Paris Fashion Week show and the blatant cowboyisms at Junya Wantanabe, I don’t want to say “I told you so,” but I literally told you so.
Now that you know I have a track record for being right, take heed of my words, and start your Westernwear journey with Esquire’s favorite belt possibly ever: Gap’s Leather Western Belt.
Let me walk you through why this belt is an all-timer around here. First of all, the style is classic—you can’t go wrong with black leather and brushed silver accents. It’s versatile enough to dress down with your favorite band tee and ripped jeans, or dress up with a button-down and pleated pants. The style verges on Westernwear, sure, but isn’t so overtly Western that it looks out-of-place with your regular office style; instead, it offers a subtle-yet-edgy flair that’s easy to pull off.
And then there’s the price. Where the hell else are you getting 100% genuine leather for 30 bucks right now? Even when this isn’t on sale, $60 is mighty affordable for a high-quality leather belt (although that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t jump at the opportunity to snag it while it is half-off).
Try and find a belt this well-priced, well-made, and well-wearing somewhere else. I dare you. Just don’t be surprised when you end up clicking “Checkout” on this one.
