New kicks are one of the best gifts that any sneaker fan can receive for Christmas. One young sneakerhead recently got to unwrap something even more special though—a custom Air Jordan inspired by his own drawing of the shoe.
Sneaker customizer Niko Barber, aka Neeks Custom Sneaks, took to Instagram yesterday to show off the one-of-a-kind Air Jordan 1 made for a young sneakerhead. In the post, the artist shared the inspiration behind the custom Jordan 1 design, which was a drawing by the young fan requesting Santa Claus to turn the image into a real pair of shoes.
The customizer also shared a video of the kid unwrapping his custom Air Jordan 1s on Instagram, where he’s filled with joy upon realizing what he received for Christmas.
“I am beyond honored to share a special moment that brought joy to both me and a young boy this holiday season! Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to customize a pair of sneakers for a boy who had a heartfelt wish for them to be delivered by Santa,” Barber wrote in his Instagram caption. “When I received his request, I felt an overwhelming sense of responsibility and excitement. It was not just about creating a unique pair of sneakers; it was about bringing a child’s dream to life. I wanted to make sure that every detail was what he has visioned this one’s for you buddy Merry Christmas.”
