Kate Hudson’s Oscars glam would have made Andie Anderson proud: The actor took her iconic How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days character’s advice and “frosted herself” with ballet slipper lips, an icy blue gown, and ‘liquid diamond nails.’

Celebrity manicurist Brittany Boyce created Hudson’s ultra-shiny manicure. “We knew we wanted to do a neutral nail, but something a little more fun and chic,” Boyce said in a press release. “Layering the shades created the perfect iced glazed neutral nail for the Oscars.” The light-catching final result puts an frosty twist on the glazed donut nail trend.

To start, Boyce applied two coats of Gel by Essie Fairy Tailor, creating a clean nude base. She then layered on two coats of Essie’s new gel shade Drip Drip, “a diamond dust-infused sheer white polish with a satin chrome and pearlescent glitter finish” from the new Liquid Diamonds collection. She finished with the brand’s Shiny Top Coat for a high-gloss seal.

Hudson’s long almond-shaped tips are an especially elegant canvas, but this formula works on any length or shape. The trend-worthy ‘liquid diamond’ manicure also fits right in with the Y2K-inspired ‘frosted’ beauty trends defining spring 2026. Hudson—like many other stars on the Oscar’s red carpet—also wore a cool-toned pink satin lip with ballet blush to match, courtesy of makeup artist Tonya Brewer using Charlotte Tilbury.
