Kate Hudson Demonstrates the Coolest Way to Style a Graphic T-Shirt in 2026

Kate Hudson must have had this in her closet. The very day Grateful Dead guitarist and founding member Bob Weir passed away, the Almost Famous star stepped out in a “holy grail” (very rare) Grateful Dead T-shirt while out in Los Angeles, paying tribute to the musician in style. Unless her stylist is the greatest source-r on the planet, this was already in her collection.

Specifically, the shirt is a vintage 1970s style to promote Weir’s 1972 album Ace, which this this fan blog explains was meant to be a solo album, “but then everyone from the band wanted to be on it.”

Hudson paired the tee with a red satin skirt (a major winter 2026 trend) that perfectly matches the color palette of the design, black heels, and starburst earrings. Her black nails give the look even more edge.

Kate Hudson knows just how to style a graphic T-shirt. It’s a simple but effective combo that makes the shirt look intentional rather than casual, as it might if paired with pants or denim. She’s treating the design like part of the overall look, and it has actual meaning for her. Yes, you’re totally allowed to wear a Nirvana shirt just because you like how it looks, but the thing is…anyone can do that. Finding a vintage or unique graphic tee that you have a personal connection to is just cooler, and often looks better because you’ll naturally care a bit more about it.

The next day, Hudson pulled off a style-180, swapping her black manicure for long, nude nail polish and her rocker shirt for a glimmering silver gown at the 2026 Golden Globes. Dress by Armani Privé, jewelry by Garatti, cosmetics by Charlotte Tilbury (applied by makeup artist Tonya Brewer), facial structure by Goldie Hawn.
